TV Commercial Production in Zimbabwe
Broadcast finish, standard durations, no forced production day on the invoice.
Television in Zimbabwe still carries weight. For certain products, and certain buyers, being on air is itself the message — it says the business is established enough to be there. That has value that a feed does not replicate.
The problem has always been the entry cost. A conventional commercial means a production company, a full crewed day and a budget that rules most businesses out before the conversation starts.
What we do
We produce the commercial using whatever the brief actually needs — your own footage where it helps, built worlds where they win. Script, footage, voiceover, music and grade, delivered at broadcast resolution in the durations stations actually sell.
The finish is the part people assume must be compromised. It is not — but you should judge that from the work rather than from this paragraph. Every poster on our work page is a still from a delivered ad.
Durations
- 15 seconds — the cheapest airtime and the hardest to write. One idea, one line
- 30 seconds — the standard buy and where most commercials should sit
- 45 to 60 seconds — for launches and sponsorships, where you have bought the room
We usually build the 30 first and cut the 15 out of it, so you get two lengths from one idea rather than two half-formed ones.
Be clear-eyed about the airtime
The commercial is not the expensive part of a television campaign. The airtime is, usually by a wide margin, and it is worth pricing that before you commission anything.
If your budget only stretches to production and a handful of spots, you will likely get more out of putting the same money into a campaign set and paid social. We would rather say that now than take the brief and watch it underperform.
Where television genuinely wins is reach into households that social does not touch, and credibility with older and rural buyers.
What you get
- Broadcast-resolution master in your required duration
- A shorter cutdown from the same idea
- A vertical version for feed and WhatsApp Status
- Professional voiceover, licensed music, colour grade
- Still frames for print and press
What you need to tell us
Which station, and which slot. Specs differ and it is far cheaper to build to the right one than to re-render after a rejection.
- Will a broadcaster accept the file?
- We deliver at broadcast resolution in standard durations. Every station has its own submission spec, so tell us who you are submitting to and we will match it before we render rather than after.
- What durations do you cut?
- 15, 30 and 45 seconds are the usual buys. We normally build the 30 first and cut the 15 from it, so both come from the same idea.
- Can you use footage we already have?
- Yes, and for broadcast it often lifts the result. Existing product footage, event coverage or archive material can anchor the commercial while we build the rest around it.
- Does airtime cost more than the ad?
- Almost always, by a wide margin. That is worth knowing before you commit — the production is the small number in a television campaign.
- Can I use the same commercial on Facebook?
- Yes, and you should. We deliver a vertical cutdown alongside the broadcast master so the same idea runs in the feed.
- Do you handle booking the airtime?
- No. We make the commercial. Booking and negotiating airtime is between you and the station, and anyone who bundles it is usually adding a margin.
No call required. Send one clear photo and a line about what the ad has to do, and we come back inside 48 hours.
