Voiceover is the part of an advert people notice only when it is bad. A good one is invisible — it carries the message and gets out of the way. A bad one makes the whole business sound amateurish, no matter how good the picture is.
It is included in every tier we sell. This page exists mostly for people who have video from somewhere else and need the audio fixed.
What is included with an ad
Every Sukarav ad — including a $40 single spot — comes with the voiceover recorded, mixed and levelled against the music. There is no separate line for it and no upgrade path where you pay more for the version that sounds right.
Standalone voiceover
If you have footage already, we will write or tighten the script, record the read, and mix it to your video. Twenty dollars, delivered in 24 hours.
Choosing a voice
Match the buyer, not your taste. The right read for a workshop is not the right read for a beauty salon.
Slower than feels natural. Almost every first-time script is read too fast. Comfortable in a quiet room is rushed on a phone in a busy street.
Language matters more than polish. A read in the listener’s own language, done well, outperforms a technically better English one for most local audiences. But done badly it is worse than not trying — so we will be straight with you about what we can deliver convincingly.
Using your own voice
For owner-led businesses this is often the stronger choice. People trust a person more than a professional read, and imperfection reads as authenticity.
Record on your phone in a small, soft room — a bedroom with curtains beats a large office. Hold the phone about a hand’s width away, off to the side rather than straight on. Send the original file and we will handle the rest.
- Is voiceover really included in the ad price?
- Yes. It is not an upsell. A $40 spot includes the voiceover, the music and the grade.
- Can I get a Shona or Ndebele voiceover?
- Tell us the language and the register you want and we will tell you honestly what we can deliver well. A voiceover that sounds slightly off in the listener's own language does more harm than one in English.
- What if I want my own voice on it?
- Record it on your phone in a quiet room, send us the file, and we will clean it up and mix it. For an owner-led business that is often more persuasive than a polished stranger.
- How long does a standalone voiceover take?
- 24 hours for a normal advert script.
