Video Ad Production for Victoria Falls Tourism
Zimbabwe's most competitive tourism market, where everyone is selling to someone who has never been.
Victoria Falls is the most competitive tourism market in the country, and the one where almost every customer is buying something they have never seen, from a long way away, usually on a phone.
That makes video less of a luxury here than almost anywhere else in Zimbabwe.
The problem with looking like everyone else
Nearly every operator in the Falls has aerial footage of the gorge. It is beautiful and it is completely interchangeable. A traveller comparing six lodges sees six versions of the same shot and learns nothing that helps them choose.
The Falls sells itself. It is not your job to sell it. Your job is to sell you — the room, the deck, the view from your particular vantage, the food, the guides, what the evening is like.
That is where most operators here are weakest, and it is the gap worth filling.
Build for the buyer, not for everyone
A domestic weekender driving up and an international traveller booking six months out are making different decisions. Price versus experience, convenience versus once-in-a-lifetime.
One advert cannot do both jobs well. This is the clearest case in the country for the four-ad campaign set — different cuts for different audiences, from one production, at $25 each.
What we need from a tourism business
Your own photographs matter more here than anywhere else. The property, the rooms, the deck, the food, the vehicles, the guides. We build from what makes you specifically worth choosing.
Be honest with us about what the place is actually like. An advert that oversells a lodge produces a disappointed guest and a review that costs you far more than the advert made.
Being straight about two things
We are 600km away, in Gweru. It changes nothing, because production can run remotely and travel is optional.
We blend real footage with generated worlds. We do not hold a library of real Victoria Falls material and we will not pass generated scenery off as documentary footage of your property. Your real photographs anchor the work, and we are explicit about that.
Where to start
A single spot at $40 on your strongest asset — the view, the room, the signature experience. See what it does to enquiries before committing to a set.
- Can you produce something for international travellers?
- Yes, and it should be built specifically for them. An advert aimed at a domestic weekend visitor and one aimed at someone booking from overseas are different pieces of work.
- Everyone here already has drone footage. Why would I need this?
- Because everyone here already has drone footage. Another aerial of the gorge does not distinguish you. What sells a lodge is what it feels like to be in it, and that is where most operators are thin.
- Do you have footage of the Falls?
- We work from your own material rather than holding a generic library of Victoria Falls footage. For a tourism business the honest answer is that your own photographs of your own property are the important input, and we build around those.
- Is 600km a problem?
- No, because travel is optional. There is no crew and no forced shoot unless the brief calls for it.
Send one clear photo, or footage you already have, and a line about what the ad has to do. Most of the work happens in the studio, so there is rarely anything to schedule.
